Creating & making

Share/Bookmark

I have literally locked myself at home for the past few days, just concentrating on making more jewelries and photographing them whenever I can get some sunlight. I love how I'm able to create something and not think too much about the cost. Previously I didn't allow myself to do that, worried that it might not sell because of the high cost. Now I just let it happen, let the ideas just flow.

Cubic zirconia cross with slate green mystic quartz necklace

I will be listing them up in my store tomorrow. There are also some that I haven't got the chance to photograph yet. I also have quite a few sterling silver pieces that was from our initial purchases. I'm still contemplating on whether I should sell them off here as it is or try to incorporate it with my designs. I love how the cubic zirconia cross with slate green mystic quartz necklace turned out so beautifully. It almost looks like a rosary.

It's good to be back

It has been a very long time since my last post. Nevertheless I'm back and I will be making a lot more jewelries in time for Christmas. Really excited and looking forward to it. I haven't listed this pair of earrings yet. A combination of two of my favourite stones, garnet and rainbow moonstones. It is actually one of the first few things I've made and I've been hoarding them for quite a while, not sure if I wanted to sell it. lol. Because the availability of the stones changes throughout the years and like this garnet here, I don't think I've seen it anywhere else already.

Same goes for this lovely peridot and citrine nuggets. I can't seem to get them anymore. And this happened to be the last one available. Been hoarding these stones for a while too. lol. I know I tend to do that a lot. It's time to let them all go, they deserve a good home. They are too beautiful to be kept in a box. They will be up in my Etsy store very soon. :)

Work Today

I have been working on some designs today and what came to mind was a piece I made few years back with three different gemstones. I was actually planning on making it with the new stones I just ordered but was too excited and decided to go ahead with what I have in stock. And the result...

Garnet, kyanite & labradorite
Will get better photos in natural sunlight tomorrow. It is really very pretty in person because of the different colors. And the labradorite has beautiful blue flash on it. The rest of the pieces...

Experimenting

This was the first pair I made which didn't turn out as expected because apparently I'm not good at following instructions. lol. There was a slight error which affected the stones. I will have to get back to this design again soon though.

The second pair turned out just right, with much smaller hoops of course. I used my hair vitamin bottle that I saw lying on the table. :) The design was supposed to be whacky with different coloured gems and different shapes. Unfortunately I didn't have much variety in terms of shape so most of it are rondelles. I just love the garnet nugget in the middle. Such great clarity.

Already in my Etsy store

A New Year

Share/Bookmark

Another long overdue thing which needed to be said. Better late then never right? Lol. Just wanted to thank everyone out there who's been supporting me throughout 2011. It was a challenging year for me but it got better and better as the year ended. Hoping for a much productive 2012. To kick start the new year, I've decided to go with something colourful. This multicolour gemstone necklace was the first thing I made (my current favourite) followed by some pieces of moonstone and a pair of amethyst earrings.

I've also made some changes on some of the other old designs. And the rest are still in progress.

For all you Vampire Diaries fan out there, guess what I've found?? Caroline's lapis lazuli ring!! I've been searching for this for quite a while now. Beautiful lapis lazuli with genuine swarovski crystal in the middle. Gothic Glitter is an Etsy seller who makes this beautiful ring along with other Vampire Diaries jewelry such as Katherine's freshwater pearl earrings, Elena's vervain necklace, Katherine's cameo necklace etc. Best part about this seller, she takes custom order! Which means she can make just about anything you want. There is also Katherine's lapis ring available in her store (http://gothicglitter.etsy.com) which is made of 10kt solid gold.

New items in store

Off late jewelry making hasn't been too fun for me due to my disc injury. Because of the pain, I think I prefer sketching my designs rather than  the actual process of making it. lol. However I do love looking at the end results and therefore I've not stopped working, just taking it real slow. I think one of a kind pieces are really interesting however it takes a lot of time to come up with new designs all the time. Here are some of the new items that's already up on my Etsy store. =)
